Europa Distribution (European network that gathers 70 independent
distributors from 19 European countries), the Rencontres du Cinéma
d'Amérique Latine de Toulouse (Festival that organizes Cine en
Construccion and Cine in development) the FICCO (Mexico City
International Contemporary Film Festival), the CICAE, (International
network of arthouse exhibitors) have gathered together to launch a
project between Latin-America and Europe based on 2 objectives: -
to encourage and facilitate the two-way flow of Latin-American and
European film works in commercial and non commercial circuits We believe that one solution to these issues is the exchange of
experiences, competences, and knowledge. Therefore, in order to
implement the mentioned objectives, the consortium organizes workshops
in Mexico City/Mexico during the FICCO (February 22-25 2009) and
Toulouse/France during the Rencontres Cinéma d’Amérique Latine (March
22-26 2009) gathering 12 distributors/buyers/sales agents/diffusion
professionals coming from both continents. The 2 sessions (in Mexico
City and Toulouse) will have different focuses (access to movies, new
technologies, promotion strategies, networking) and hold different
activities (conferences, case studies, discussion forums, screenings…).
